Telemundo Las Vegas / KBLR unveiled its new, 22,622 square-foot media center on September 23rd, 2019, and MAGNUM was selected to do the installation of the space.

From nbcumv.com: “At launch, KBLR is the first NBCUniversal-owned station to have its news and production infrastructure hosted by a private cloud system built exclusively by NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations, the division of NBCUniversal that includes 42 NBC/Telemundo owned stations, including KBLR. Telemundo Las Vegas also launched with the “Ross Inception Newsroom System” an advanced newsroom tool that improves news gathering and content publishing across multiple platforms including social media.”

“Our new facility honors our longstanding commitment of serving our Las Vegas’ Spanish-speaking communities and raises the bar for local broadcasting in our market and industry. We are proud to present our new facility to our audiences,” said Ramiro Lopez, President and General Manager, Telemundo Las Vegas.

The Studio Installation

MAGNUM provided a new ETC Sensor IQ24 Intelligent Relay System to be able to control the relays via DMX.

The lighting system consisted of Litepanels Astra 1×1 panels for key and fill lights, and Litepanels Sola 4 & 6 Daylight Fresnels were used as the primary backlights.

We did a full unbox assemble and tested every fixture before hanging. There was a distributed Net Cat5 system installed for control.

The client provided the new LED background panels as well as the in-set down lights, which we had to interface with to assure all lighting was handled with one control system.

After the Installation

Once the job was completed, we worked with the crew, providing a detailed fixture overview, programming and system training.
